Data Protection

New Legislation on Data Protection

New legislation on data protection comes into force in May 2019. This requires the Society to let you know exactly what information we hold about you, our purpose in holding it, and when and how it gets deleted from our database.

For every member of the Ashtead Horticultural Society, we hold the following information:

  • Name
  • Telephone Number
  • Postal Address
  • Email Address (if available)

We use this information to collect subscriptions, to send out copies of the newsletter, to keep you informed about activities and events organised by the Society, and to maintain our records of payments received.

Your data will be deleted when you either leave the Society or ask for it to be removed.

The data is held by the Membership Secretary on a password-protected database. The Secretary will pass the information only to other Committee members, and to road stewards, when needed in the running of the Society.
