The Society stages two shows each year at The Peace Memorial Hall, and entry is free.
They are the third Saturday in July and first Saturday of September each year. See our Programme of Events for this year’s date. Doors open at 1.30pm.
You can enjoy looking at the exhibits and then spend a while over a cup of tea and a home-made cake. The shows are not just about flowers, although they do play a big part; they bring the colour and the aroma of Summer. You will also see exhibits in the vegetable, fruit, craft, culinary and photography classes.
Encourage your children to get involved, they are welcome to take part. There are classes for children aged under 9 and 9 – 14 years in the Summer Show.
This is all for fun, but there are prizes to be won! To determine the winners of the awards for the highest number of points in various Sections at both the Summer and Autumn Shows, the following points will be awarded for each entry Class:
Position | Points | Prize money |
---|---|---|
1st | 5 | £1.00 |
2nd | 3 | £0.50 |
3rd | 2 | £0.20 |
